MRSPTU LAUNCHES "CHIEF MINISTER SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME" FOR MERITORIOUS AND NEEDY STUDENTS FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2018-19

The Punjab Government established Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) launched ‘Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme’ for academic session 2018-19 with a resolve to provide cheaper and quality technical education to the meritorious and needy students.

 In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the MRSPTU, Registrar, Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal said “All the meritorious students who are economically weak and aspiring for good quality education in MRSPTU main campus and its constituent colleges would benefit from the scheme,”.

He said that under the scheme, the students would get the fee waiver as per the percentage of marks or ranks obtained in JEE and NEET etc.

Giving details, he said students securing 1 to 50,000 ranks in JEE and 1 to 25,000 ranks in NEET will be entitled to waiver of full Tuition Fee. Apart from this GATE/GPAT qualified candidates will also get scholarship as per rules.

Besides, students in first 6 merit positions of any board examination and All University/Board topper in qualifying examinations will get Scholarship equivalent to full Tuition Fee.

Similarly, candidates having 80 percent marks and above in the qualifying examination are entitled to Scholarship equivalent to 50 percent of Tuition Fee and in Punjab Institute of Technologies (PIT’s) candidates having 70 percent marks and above in the qualifying examination are entitled to Scholarship equivalent to half Tuition Fee.

Meritorious students hailing from underprivileged, needy sections could avail this facility, he said. He hoped that with the implementation of this Scholarship Scheme will give a major boost in admissions in engineering colleges in a big way.
