Rich tributes were paid to Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, faculty at Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh who passed away on 10th June 2018 after a brief illness. He was 41. He did his M.Sc. from the Physics Department, Panjab University and Ph.D. from S.N. Bose Centre, Kolkata. He joined Department of Physics in December, 2005.

 His teachers, colleagues, friends recalled his immense contributions to the department and science in general, during the condolence meeting organized in his memory at 11.00 am on 12 June, 2018 in the department.
As a researcher, he was thorough. The traits, he acquired while being trained as a formal field-theorist- meticulous, systematic, logical, made him really unique in the department.

His contribution to IAPT bulletin as Assistant Editor, in bringing out IAPT bulletin on a regular basis for more than a decade shows his dedication to the cause was recalled. His contributions to various academic events like National Student Symposia, Dept. conferences, workshops, and meetings were lauded.

The Chairperson, PUTA President also shared the sentiments expressed by the speakers and expressed their solidarity to extend all possible support to the bereaved family.Dr. Kuldeep Kumar is survived by aged parents, wife and two small children. A Two minute silence was observed in the memory of the departed soul.
