HARYANA POLICE IN ACTION MODE AGAINST LIQUOR MAFIA: 40 THOUSANDS BOTTLES WORTH 1.5 CRTORE SEIZED

Haryana Police has been taking on the liquor mafia and in the last one month the police has caught two trucks, a gas tanker, 10 pickup trucks and other two wheelers carrying 40,000 bottles of liquor worth about Rs 1.5 crore, in Rewari. Last night, the police caught a truck carrying 1,150 boxes of liquor and arrested the truck driver from Palwal toll at Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Rewari.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that following the instructions of Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu to act tough against the crime and criminals, Rewari Police continuously making fruitful efforts to crackdown on people involved in liquor smuggling and other illegal activities. 

He said that Dharuhera Police had received information that a truck carrying illicit liquor would pass through Jhajjar via Pataudi to Dharuhera and towards Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway. Acting swiftly, the police laid nakabandi, but the truck driver broke the barricades and moved towards Gurugram. Later, the police nabbed the truck near Palwal toll at Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.He said that the accused truck driver has been identified as Naresh, a resident of Nangal Pathani in Kosli, Rewari.

The police has registered a case against the truck driver for causing obstruction in duty and under various other sections including the Excise Act.
