A row has started over the credit for setting up of PGI Satellite Centre in Ferozepur between Congress and BJP leaders.  While the setting of this project at the ITI land was almost at the final stage but with the change of government, the site plan was changed to Malwal village, 15 km from Ferozepur.

Youth Congress President, Sukhwinder Singh Attari in his statement to the media has condemned over creating hurdles in clearance of the PGI project in Ferozepur over former BJP President, Kamal Sharma by meeting the Health Minister, J.P.Nadda.  He stated that setting up of PGI for providing advanced health facilities, is not being digested by Kamal Sharma which could not come up during ten years tenure of SAD-BJP government.

Parminder Singh Pinky, MLA confirmed that the PGI centre will come up soon in Ferozepur and people of the area will not have to move to other stations besides it will give employment to more than 10,000 people.

Davinder Bajaj, Distt BJP President, Ferozepur said, the PGI should be set up in Ferozepur City itself for the convenience of the people instead of 15 km outside the city at Malwal village.  He said it will shortly be started at the already selected land of the ITI for Boys.  With the construction RUB at Basti Tankan Wali, connecting the City and Cantt, there will not be any traffic problem, he added.

Bajaj said, there should not be politics on health facilities in the city.  He pointed out that instead of gehrao of Kamal Sharma by the youth congress leaders, they should take up with the Congress MLA Pinky for setting up the project in the city itself. 

On the other hand, Kamal Sharma, former BJP President, Punjab condemning the statement of Youth  Congress President said, it would be better if we start the things where it was left.  He accused that the setting up of PGI project was at the final stage but with the change of government, there is no progress
