EX PUNJAB FM SURINDER SINGLA CREMATED WITH STATE HONOURS, PUNJAB POLICE PRESENT GUARD OF HONOUR

Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi, and Additional Resident Commissioner,Punjab Bhawan New Delhi, Rahul Gupta Bhandari laid a wreath on the body of Surinder Singla on behalf of Punjab Government.

The mortal remains of former Punjab Finance Minister Surinder Singla were consigned to the flames with state honours today at the Lodhi Road Crematorium New Delhi. 

 
 
The Punjab government had declared Friday as a holiday as a mark of respect for Singla, who was a Cabinet Minister in the previous tenure of Captain Amarinder as Chief Minister, who described his death as a personal loss. 

Several leading dignitaries, including former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, along with the family and friends of Singla were present on the occasion, which was marked by guard of honour by the Punjab Police.

Union Minister Vijay Goel, noted industrialist G. D. Goenka, former Lt. Governor Puducherry Iqbal Singh, former MP Tarlochan Singh, former MLA Jasbir Singh Khangura and other prominent personalities attended the cremation of Singla.
