PUNJAB, HARYANA ,HIMACHAL AND CHANDIGARH NCC DIRECTORATE GEARS FOR NCC INTER DIRECTORATE SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

Eight NCC Groups of the Directorate participated in the competition, each fielding sixteen cadets in .22 Sporting and Anschutz Rifle category. Ambala, Chandigarh and Jalandhar NCC Group were adjudged as first, second and third respectively.

Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh NCC Directorate conducted Inter Group Shooting Competition at NCC Academy, Ropar. The aim of this competition was to select NCC cadets for representing the Directorate Shooting team in the Inter Directorate Shooting Championship scheduled to be held in second week of August.

 Eight NCC Groups of the Directorate participated in the competition, each fielding sixteen cadets in .22 Sporting and Anschutz Rifle category. Ambala, Chandigarh and Jalandhar NCC Group were adjudged as first, second and third respectively.

Ms Anjum Moudgil, an Ex NCC cadet of NCC Group Chandigarh and a Commonwealth and World Cup medal winner in Air Rifle and 50 mtr Rifle shooting was also present to motivate the budding NCC shooters.
Speaking on the occasion on behalf of Maj Gen RS Mann, VSM, ADG, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh NCC Directorate, Brig RS Thakur, Chandigarh NCC Group Commander said that NCC provides a platform for cadets to excel in Sports Competitions. The Brigadier exhorted the cadets to do well and emulate Ms Anjum to make NCC and Country proud.

Last year, three cadets of the Chandigarh Group represented DGNCC team in All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship. One girl Cadet had qualified for Internationals while the Boy Cadet qualified for Nationals.
