BSF AND CI WING DURING JOINT SEARCH OPERATION RECOVERED CONTRABAND HEROIN, ONE PEDDLER NABBED

The sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence ( CI) wing of Punjab Police along with 105 Battalion of BSF have recovered five packet of heroin weighing 2.770 Kg worth approx. Rs. 14 Cr. from an area near border out post (BOP) Kassoke in Ferozepur sector.

Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu AIG ( CI) said that they had received specific input regarding consignment of drugs being smuggled inside India by drug peddler Surjit Singh alias Jitan son of Mann Singh, resident of Village Bhane Wala following which he was nabbed by the CI wing. “As per the information provided by him, a joint special search operation was carried out with the help of BSF troops belonging to 105 Battalion near an area near BOP Kassoke. During the search operation, 5 packets of heroin weighing 2.770 Kg were recovered from the fields of one Parmjit Singh son of Jarnail Singh near border pillar number 183/13 (Gate No. 183/01 of BOP Kassoke). The consignment was hidden inside the tubewell pipe”, said AIG Sidhu. 

Sidhu said that a case under sections 21/30/61/85 NDPS Act was lodged at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Fazlika (Case Number 14 dated 29.06.2018).
