Following the inputs, the police registered a case under sections 15,18, 21, 22, 68-C, 8-A, NDPS Act besides 25/27/54/59 Arms Act at Sadar police station (Case number 170 dated 05.07.2018). The police also raided their house but both the accused somehow managed to escape.

The SHO said that during the search of the house police recovered three .32 bore revolvers along with 16 rounds, one .315 bore rifle with 25 rounds and one round of .303 rifle was also recovered from their house..

The SHO further stated that during the search several land deeds worth in crores were also recovered. “The villagers told us that Jarnail is the brother of notorious drug smuggler Harbans Singh against whom several cases under NDPS act and Arms Act has been lodged at various police stations.

The police also came to know that just few years ago the financial condition of the family was not good but now recently they had purchased several vehicles and had invested in real estate which turns the needle of suspicion towards them”, said SHO.

“One pistol which was found from their residence was of Webley and Scott which generally costs around 4 lakh.
