HARYANA POLICE BOOKED FOUR PERSONS INCLUDING SARPANCH RECOVERED TWO KG OPIUM AND 10 KG POPPY HUSK

Haryana Police have booked four persons including a Sarpanch representative under NDPS Act during ongoing campaign against drug peddlers in district Sirsa. Police has recovered 2 kg opium and 10 kg Doda Post from their possession, besides a car used in transporting the narcotics. 

A plate indicating Sarpanch representative, Nambardar and President of SriKrishna Gaushala was placed in front of the car. Car driver, Sanjay Kumar’s wife is Sarpanch of village Khuian Malkana.While stating here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that acting on the directives of Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu, a crackdown against smuggling of narcotics was launched in district Sirsa especially in the areas bordering Rajasthan and Punjab.

He said that Crime Investigation Agency of Sirsa during patrolling in Dabwali area has signaled a car to stop, but the driver accelerated and tried to move other side but nabbed by the team. When searched police has recovered 2 kg of opium valued at around Rs 6 lakh in international market. The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, a resident of village Khuian Malkana, Mohan Lal of district Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Gurdeep Singh, a native of Khuian Malkana. 

In another case, CIA Dabwali team had also arrested a person carrying 10 kg Doda Post in the district. The arrested accused has been identified as Raja Singh, a resident of Jajal in Punjab. Police team also enquiring the name of suppliers and efforts were being made to nab them. Cases under NDPS Act have been registered against the accused and further investigation was on, he added.
