HARYANA POLICE ARRESTED TWO DRUG PEDDLERS IN HISAR WITH FIVE KG OPIUM

Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has arrested two drug peddlers near village Bhojraj in district Hisar and recovered five kilogram of opium from their possession.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said those arrested have been identified as Anil of village Bhojraj in district Hisar and Nahru Singh, a resident of district Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

The spokesman said that after getting the information about the suspects, the police acted swiftly and nabbed the duo near village Bhojraj. Divulging the details of the operation, he said that a suspicious person who was coming on foot from Tikri Border side had tried to run after seeing the STF team which was deployed near Bhojraj village. Acting swiftly, the police team immediately nabbed the accused alongwith his accomplice with 5 kg opium. A case under NPS Act had been registered against them at Sadar Police Station in Hisar, he added.

He said that during the interrogation, both the accused confessed that they have been supplying opium in districts of Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr. B.S. Sandhu made it clear that Police would not allow drug peddling in the state and stern action would be taken against those found involved in such incidents. He also urged the people to come forward and help the police to curb drug menace.
