SNAKE RESCURER JIWAN HONOURED AT PANJAB UNIVERSITY

President Kapil Kumar Kaushal said Jiwan area. He also diverted attention to the PU authority to keep a check on monkeys that are rapidly increasing in the residential areas and departments like Pharmacy, Zoology etc.

  on the eve of Independence Day Panjab University Laboratory and Technical Staff Association and Social Substance Group honoured Sh. Jiwan ji, the snake rescuer of PU Chandigarh was honoured and gifted a snake tong and a letter of appreciation for his meritorious work.

President Kapil Kumar Kaushal said he is helping the society by Catching Snakes from the residential area of PU without any greed and release these creatures in the jungle area. He also diverted attention to the PU authority to keep a check on monkeys that are rapidly increasing in the residential areas and departments like Pharmacy, Zoology etc.

He also requested the UT administration to provide a land in the jungle area for mini zoo kind enclosure to give shelter to these monkeys. Kapil Kumar Kaushal also requested the technical staff to take the help of technology like using Artificial Intelligence and CCTV Cameras for detecting these monkeys.

Dr. Arun Bansal apprised that Social Substance is consistently working for social causes and about 50 rescues are conducted at PU in last year alone. Sh. Arun Raina, Sh. Satish Verma, Sh. Satish Sharma, Dr. Sudhir Goyal, Sh. Tarlok, Sh. Naresh Kumar, Sh. Devinder Kumar, Sh. Ashwani Kumar and other Technical Staff members were also present on this occasion.
