The Nominations Committee of Hindu Temple , Central Indiana has announced the commencement of elections process for the Temple Board of Trustees. There are two contribution based vacancies on the Board of Trustees for a four-year term of 2019-2022.
Surprisingly, the Board of Trustees elections are based on contributions to the HTCI. One position is for those contributing between $25,000 -49,999 and the second for contribution between $50,000 -99,999. Donations are welcome but when it is attached for seeking position of a Board of Trustees cannot be termed as elections. In this process one is 'bidding' for the position in auction.
In the latest circular it was clarified that now there is no open position in the $10,000-24,999 contribution category.
Contributions made till Sunday, September 30, 2018 be accounted towards total contributions to be considered in this election process.
In addition to monetary contributions, the bylaws note the following requirements:
a) The candidate for the Trustee of the Board must be a resident of the State of Indiana.
b) The candidate for the Trustee of the Board shall be an Annual or Life Member of the HTCI in good standing for at least three consecutive years and who has been recognized for his/her dedication and contributions to the HTCI.
c) The Trustees shall be elected by the General Body.
All donations/ contributions made in person at the temple must be received by HTCI on or before 5 PM, Sunday, September 30, 2018. If anyone mailing his check or paying online, the postmark or electronic postmark date should be on or before Sunday, September 30, 2018.

Annual members and Life Members can exercise their eligibility to vote in this election. If you are not an Annual or Life Member, please pay your membership fees by September 30, 2018.
