In a big catch, Crime Investigation Agency of Haryana Police have arrested two persons with illicit weapons from district Jind. Police have also recovered five pistols and six live cartridges from them which they used to bring from neighbouring states of Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Headquarters said that accused have been identified as Deepak alias Makala, a resident of Ram Nagar Colony, Narwana and Amit alias Mita, a resident of village Risalu in Panipat. Six criminal cases were already registered against them at different police stations.

Giving further details, he said that police have received an information that accused with illicit weapons were roaming in Aleva area with an intention to commit a major incident of crime. Acting swiftly, police team had nabbed the duo from Aleva bus stand. When searched, police found a pistol and two live cartridges from Amit whereasDeepak arrested with four each of pistols and live cartridges.

During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that accused used to bring illicit weapons from Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Amit bring pistol from Rishikesh, another accused Deepak bought four pistols from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh for nearly Rs50,000.

He said that both accused would be taken on police remand by producing them before the court so that their involvement in other incidents could be unearthed.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu appreciated the Jind Police for their relentless efforts in nabbing the criminals.
