The BJP today alleged that after Manishankar Aiyyar, Salman Khurshid and Shashi Tharoor, now Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has joined Rahul Gandhi’s Muslim appeasement brigade.

Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP said a well orchestrated campaign has been launched by 10 Janpath to play Muslim card and Sidhu was the latest to join and boost the campaign in the garb of his appreciation of Pakistan and Pak leaders and generals.

The decision of both the governments to open the Kartarpur Sahib corridor is welcome, but the over excitement shown by Sidhu is beyond any political or patriotic wisdom, Chugh said.

Chugh hailed Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder’s decision to outrightly reject the invitation extended to him by the Pakistanu government. “Knowing fully well that Pakistan was killing our soldiers on border and was also trying to revive terrorism in Punjab, Sidhu’s decision to appreciate Pakistan and his eagerness to join the function in Pakistan puts a question mark on his credentials as a true Indian,” the BJP leader said.

“The nation wants to know whether Sidhu, the new member of Gandhi family’s kitchen cabinet, during his Pak visit, would take up the issue of Pakistan’s intentions, intervention and support to revive terrorism in Punjab?”, Chugh said.

Chugh said perhaps Sidhu has forgot that his own government in Punjab has confirmed Pakistani hand in incidents like attack on Nirankari Satsang Bhawan and arrests of Kashmiri militants studying in various educational institutions in Punjab.

“By accepting Pakistan’s invitation, Sidhu was trying to fit into Rahul’s scheme of things to fulfill his dream to be the next Chief Minister of Punjab as Capt Amarinder has already announced that this was his last innings as Chief Minister of Punjab,” Chugh said.

The BJP leader said Sidhu must understand that Pakistan has never responded positively to gestures by various Indian governments.
