HARYANA GOVT. IS FARMERS FRIENDLY, SAYS RAM BILAS SHARMA

Haryana Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that Haryana Government is farmers’ friendly and understands the condition of the farmers, thus has taken several welfare decisions in the interest of the farmers.

Mr Sharma was speaking during the winter session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha while opposition leaders raised issues related to farmers. He said that farmers affected by hailstorm in February, 2015 were given Rs 1092 crore as compensation for their losses. Apart from this, prices were increased for crops including paddy and Bajra (millet). He said that rate of sugarcane in Haryana has been increased by Rs. 10 per quintal for the ensuing sugarcane crushing season. Thus Haryana has been providing maximum price of sugarcane to the farmers in the country, which is Rs. 340 per quintal.

He said that it is outcome of good policies of the Haryana Government that in recent past, mayoral candidates of BJP registered victory in all the five Municipal Corporations. The State Government has taken several initiatives in the interest of the people of both urban and rural areas.
