NIT HAMIRPUR CONVOCATION HELD, 763 DEGREES AWARDED

During this convocation in total 763 degrees were awarded out of which 501 B. Tech., 44 B. Arch., 162 M. Tech., 9 M. Arch., 13 MBA and 34 Ph. D. were awarded respectively.   Institute also awarded medals to high performing students for their academic achievements in respective programmes at UG and PG levels. Directors Medals which is the highest medal of the Institute was awarded to Ritwik Sood for 2018, Tanya Agarwal and Nitya Garg jointly for 2017, Ankush Kumar for 2015 and Vaashu Sharma for 2014.

8th Convocation of NIT Hamirpur held today in the Institute Auditorium in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Sudhir Kumar Mishra Distinguished Scientist and Director General (BrahMos) DRDO, Prof. Chandra Shakher, Chairman, Board of Governors (BOG) NIT Hamirpur and dignified Academic body of the Institute.

The convocation started with the address of Prof. Vinod Yadava, Director NIT Hamirpur wherein he advised the degree recipients to utilize the knowledge gained in making impossible a possibility and be creative to convert little into plenty. He also emphasized for raising standard of life rather than standard of living.

Prof. Chandra Shakher, Chairman BOG motivated the degree recipients to become job creator rather than job seeker and stressed each degree recipient to create at least one new knowledge in their respective domain for the direct benefit of the society and the mankind.

The chief guest of the function Dr. Sudhir Kumar Mishra focussed on the forth manufacturing revolution i.e. Industry 4.0 for making India a self reliant country. While sharing his association with former president of India Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, on the missile development project he wished that everyone should get a mentor like Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, as he had.
