Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Friday demanded the resignation of Food and Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Ludhiana Housing scam. Demanding a high level inquiry into the multi-crore Grad Manor Homes scam in Ludhiana under the supervision of the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court. Meanwhile Minister concerned denies allegations against him.

Leader of the Opposition (Lop) Harpal Singh and Deputy Leader Sarbjit Kaur Manukeke, while addressing the media outside the House, demanded that stringent action should be taken against all involved in the scam. They have demanded strict action against them immediately after their suspension.

Manuke raised the issue on the floor of the House on Friday showing a clipping of the media reports published in some newspapers.

Interacting with media later, Manuke said that the Deputy Commissioner report in the case had revealed that the land was transferred in the name of Grad Manor Homes without registration on January 17, 2018 as records do not tally.

She further informed that Local Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu had ordered an inquiry into the case, in which, besides three IAS officers, names od Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Congress leader Kanwaljeet Singh Kavalwal figured prominently.

Manuke demanded that Captain Amarinder Singh should immediately ask his minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu to tender his resignation and initiate action against others involved into the case. 

Meantime, in Connection with dragging of name in Ludhiana CLU controversy, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Cabinet Minister Punjab in an official statement here today said, “I have nothing to do with the building in present controversy. However, I will like Mr. Sidhu to explain how my name got included in the enquiry. If he finds any merit in it, let him report it to Chief Minister, but if there is any mischievous intention of any official to include my name deliberately in it, then let the official be penalized.’’
