GOOD NEWS FOR GUEST TEACHERS: HARYANA GUEST TEACHERS SERVICE BILL 2019 PASSED IN VIDHAN SABHA

Fulfilling the promise made by Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma to the Guest Teachers working in the State, the Haryana Government today passed the 'Haryana Guest Teacher Service Bill, 2019' in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, here today.

Although these guest teachers were appointed by the Congress Government, yet the present government has passed the Bill in favour of these teachers without any discrimination. After the bill was passed in the Vidhan Sabha, the guest teachers thanked the Education Minister by offering sweets to him. The Minister also encouraged them to teach the children with full sincerity and all their heart.

He said that though the court had ordered to remove these guest teachers, but the present government has not only saved their job by giving an affidavit in favour of these guest teachers, but also increased their salaries.

Parliamentary Affairs and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma presented the 'Haryana Guest Teacher Service Bill, 2019' which was passed with majority. He said that during the tenure of Congress Government in 2014, about 22,000 guest teachers were appointed including JBT, TGT and PGT teachers.

The Minister said that these guest teachers were earlier paid on lecture basis, but the present government has increased their wages. Haryana Government had increased the wages of guest teachers working in the state by 25 per cent in September 2018. The State Government had increased their wages from Rs 26,000 to Rs 36,000. He said that earlier JBT and Drawing Teachers used to get Rs 21,715 and now they will get Rs 26,000 per month. TGT will get Rs 30,000 instead of Rs 24,001, and PGT and Lecturer will get monthly salary of Rs 36,000 instead of Rs 29,715. He said that now the wages of guest teachers will be increased twice a year, that is, on January 1 and on July 1.
