CBI COURT SENTENCED RAILWAY OFFICIAL TO UNDERGO FOUR YEARS RI AND FINE RS. 75 THOUSANDS IN DA CASE

Special Judge CBI Cases, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), has sentenced Mahendra Singh Thakur, then Office Superintendent (Personnel), West Central Railway, Bina, District Sagar (Madhya Pradesh) to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 75,000 in a Disproportionate Assets case. 

CBI investigation revealed that during the check period from 01.07.2005 to 25.10.2010, Mahendra Singh Thakur had acquired assets which were disproportionate to the extent of Rs. 48,67,781/- (approx.) to his known sources of income. After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 31.10.2011, against the accused in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh). 

The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them.
