FEROZEPUR POLICE CRACK MYSTERY BEHIND MISSING NRI WOMAN, HUSBAND KILLED WIFE WITH THE HELP OF HIS PARAMOUR

With the arrest of two accused and recovery of the dead body, the Ferozepur police claimed to have cracked the murder of NRI woman, who had been missing since March 14 under mysterious circumstances from Village Bagge Ke Pippal. The body of the missing NRI woman Ravnit was  found from Bhakhra Canal near Lehragaga,

It is pertinent to mention here that Ravneet was married to Jaspreet , a resident of Chandigarh for the last six years. She had a four years old baby who had also come along with her at Village Bagge ke Pippal. As per the sources, she was all set to fly back to Australia on March 22.

INVESTIGATION REVEALS

During the preliminary investigation, the accused have admitted that Ravneet Kaur was murdered on the day of kidnap on March 14 and dead body thrown in the canal.  “We have cracked the case but about her pregnancy, it cannot be commented at this stage and let the medical-legal report come”,  said SSP. On asking about the arrest of Jaspreet Singh, he said, it is too early to comment.  But we have to follow the procedure for his extradition.

 Allegedly Ravneet had received a call from her husband at around 11.30 am and she went outside while talking to him but did not return.

In his complaint, Harwinder Singh, the father alleged that her daughter was allegedly kidnapped by Jaspreet.

While addressing a press conference, SSP Sandeep Goel said that the two accused Taranjeet Kaur and Sandeep Singh, both residents of Village Samana in Patiala district who helped the main conspirator Jaspreet Singh, have been arrested.

The two accused Taranjeet Kaur was arrested on March 24, Sandeep Singh has been arrested today. The two other main accused Jaspreet and Kiranjit Kaur are in Australia.

As per information available, Jaspreet had developed illicit relations with Kiranjit in Australia. Despite Ravneet’s repleated pleas, Jaspreet was not ready to end his affair.  To get rid of his wife, Jaspreet plotted her murder with his paramour’s help when Ravneet had gone to India.

Initially, the case was registered of kidnap but with the recovery of the dead body, more sections – 364, 302 and 120-B - have been added. “I can’t share more technical details, as it will hamper the investigation to reach the logical ends. Definitely, the case will be investigated by the Australian security agency microscopically”, he added.
