CHANDIGARH POLICE ORGANIZED TRICITY PREMIER CRICKET LEAGUE T20 TOURNAMENT

Chandigarh Police organized Tricity Premier Cricket League T20 Tournament-2019 in association with HDFC Bank at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh. Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh inaugurated the opening ceremony at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh. Dr. O.P. Mishra IPS, DIG/UT, was the guest of honour and Sh. Vineet Kumar, IPS, SP/HQRs along with other officers was also present at the function. Sh. Dinesh Mongia, former player of Indian Cricket Team, players of Indian Para Cricket Team and Sh. Bipul Sharma, Ranji Player also graced the occasion with their presence. The Children from De-addiction Centre (SPYM) were also brought to Cricket Stadium for motivating towards sports.

 
 
 
This Cricket Tournament is being organized with theme “Say no to Drugs, Value Your Life”. In this championship total 24 teams are participating – CRPF, CBI, IB, Media, HDFC XI, UT Employees, High Court XI, Irrigation Department, UT XI PKL, MC Chandigarh, Infosys, IDS Argus Mohali, Mohali Employee, Intelligaia, PMK info. Tech PKL, Mohali Communication XI, District Court XI, CLSA, TCC, GLEN Mark, Canara Bank, AU Bank, PNB and Chandigarh Police.

Chandigarh Police is also working with children who are vulnerable to substance abuse. Many new initiatives have already been launched by Chandigarh Police to create awareness among children about health & hygiene with particular focus on prevention of substance abuse. Chandigarh Police in partnership with SPYM has also initiated “Child Friendly & Drug free Community” for Children Vulnerable to drug abuse.

In order to promote this positive and healthy lifestyle, today, DGP/UT interacted with these Children from De-addiction Centre (SPYM) and distributed indoor/outdoor sports kits to them at Cricket Stadium, Sector-16, Chandigarh.
