HARYANA POLICE MAJOR CRACKDOWN ON DRUG PEDDLERS, SIZED 60 KG GANJA IN SONEIPAT , ARRESTED THREE PERSONS

In a major crackdown on drug peddlers, Haryana Police has seized 60.690 kg ganja leaves (cannabis) being smuggled in a car in district Sonipat and arrested three persons in this connection.  The value of seized narcotic in international market is around Rs 7 lakh.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused were identified as Narender of Sushant  Vihar, Delhi, Mahavir alias Sonu of Shanti Nagar Murthal and Jatin of Kadipur, Burari, Delhi. All were arrested from near Ansal Plaza, GT road, Kundli after getting a specific input about smuggling of narcotic. 

Divulging the details, he said that on getting secret information, police team immediately swung into action and signaled a Dzire car, bearing Delhi registration number, to stop for checking. On checking the vehicle, cops found ganja leaves, weighting 60.690 kg. 

During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that they brought ganja leaves from Orissa for supply in Delhi. A case under the provisions of NDPS Act had been registered against them at Kundli Police Station. Accused were presented before the court, which sent them in judicial custody.

In another case, Police during a special drive has arrested Mahabir, who was declared Proclaimed Offender (PO) by the Court in year 2018. 

In two separate incidents, Police has also booked two persons with illegal weapons and recovered two illegal pistols from them.
