NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU RECOVERED 22 KG. CHARAS, SRINAGAR DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED

With a view to intensify operations in Punjab against Drug Menace by Narcotics Control Bureau under the supervision of Shri S.K. Jha, IPS, Dy. Director General (NR) camp at Amritsar, an operation was launched in the area of Pathankot on 25.06.2019.

Due to the intensive efforts made by NCB team, a vehicle bearing registration No. DL-1-CV-2185 was intercepted at Ladpalwan Toll Plaza, Pathankot-Amritsar Road, P.S. Tara Garh, Pathankot and recovered 22.700 Kgs. of Charas from the special made cavity in the vehicle.

One person resident of Srinagar (J&K) has been arrested. The source of the said drug was Anantnag (J&K).

Further investigation in the case is under progress. NCB teams of Jammu Zonal Unit and Amritsar unit jointly carried out the operation. NCB has taken several measures to control and intercept interstate trafficking of drugs particular coming to Punjab.
