MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANISED BY KHALSA CARE ON 550TH BIRTH ANNIVERSAY OF GURU NANAK DEV JI

Newly formed NGO Khalsa Care and the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today organized a mega blood donation camp dedicated to 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji at Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanzara Hall in Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib complex which was inaugurated by the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa and General Secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka by themselves donating blood.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it an old saying that blood which circulates in our body makes us loyal to our nation. He said that Blood donation is supreme donation in this world and only humans can donate blood. He said that in today’s mega blood donation camp staff from Parliament, Officers and Jawans from Delhi Police, officials and employees from Home Ministry and staff of Central Secretariat has come to donate blood. He said that in a unique gesture students of Khalsa College themselves approached DSGMC and offered to donate blood and today a large number of students are present in this camp to accomplish the task. He said that feeling of loyalty and dedication toward nation and service of humanity is on the mind of all those present on the occasion.

Lauding enthusiasm of the Delhi Police, Mr. Sirsa said that blood donation is not a part of their duty but the way they are here to donate blood with enthusiasm and dedication this displays their commitment towards the nation. He also lauded army personnel who had arrived to donate blood in the camp.

Mr. Harmeet Singh Kalka General Secretary informed that 300 persons had offered eye donation in a camp organized on 500th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji in England and later eyes of these persons were used for Indians. He said that for today’s Mega camp we had fixed a target of 550 donation but it has surpassed this target many times.

On the occasion Mr. Sirsa and Mr. Kalka were honoured by Mr. Tarlochan Singh former Chairman National Minority Commission with certificates and robe of honour for blood donation.

Others prominent present on the occasion included Bibi Ranjit Kaur Senior Vice President, Jatinder Singh Shunty, Harvinder singh k.p Joint Seceretary, Kuldeep singh sahini, Paramjeet singh chandok, Harjeet singh Pappa, Paramjeet singh sweeta, Harjeet singh nagi, Jasbir singh Jassi, Bhupinder singh Bhullar, Manjeet singh aulakh, Nishan singh maan, Ravinder singh khurana, Jasprit singh vikki maan, Sukhwinder singh babbar beside others.
