HARYANA POLICE SEIZED 54 KG. GANJA LEAVES FROM GURUGRAM, 50 KG.POPPY HUSK FROM PANIPAT

In another crackdown, Haryana Police has seized 54 kg ganja leaves from Gurugram. Police has also arrested four persons including two from Odisha and one from Rajasthan in this connection.

Two accused were arrested for smuggling contraband from Odisha to Gurugram, whereas other two were nabbed on the charges of taking delivery for sale in the town. 

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused were identified as Govind, a native of district Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Sonu of Sector-46, Gurugram, Chagla Shahu and Ramakant Pradhan, both resident of district Angul, Odisha. All accused were arrested from near HUDA Market, Sector-46, Gurugram.

During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that Chagla and Ramkant had procured the contraband item from Odisha forests and were transporting the same to Gurugram for selling purpose at the rate between Rs 5000 and Rs 6000 per kg. Both were nabbed while supplying to Govind and Sonu, who further sell it to drug addicts. A case under the provisions of NDPS Act was registered against them.

In a separate development, Police has seized 50 kg chura post (POPPY HUSK) from district Panipat and arrested Sarik and Tasvar, both resident of Kairana district, Uttar Pradesh. Upon interrogated, accused informed that they had procured the contraband from Udaipur in Rajasthan for smuggling the same to Kairana in Uttar Pradesh.
