BSF TROOPS SEIZED THREE KG. HEROIN VALUING 15 CRORES IN FEROZEPORE SECTOR

Alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops reportedly seized three packets of  Contraband heroin weighing three kg valuing Rs. 15 crores in international market in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post- Shameke, Ex-136 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur on Saturday morning.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border and heightened activities of smugglers/Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mahipal Yadav, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Deputy Inspector General, Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements.

Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/ Anti-National Elements.BSF spokesman said, on Saturday at about 0600 hrs, Boat Naka party of Border Out Post (BOP) Shameke, Ex-136 Bn BSF recovered 03 Pkts (Weight Approx-03 KG) of contraband suspected to be Heroin which was stashed inside a rubber tube and duly covered with water hyacinth (Jalkumbhi).The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India.

During the year 2019,BSF has affected recovery of 116.515 Kgs till today.
