BSF RECOVERED EIGHT PACKETS OF HEROIN VALUING 40 CRORES IN FEROZEPORE SECTOR

136 Battalion of BSF  on Wednesday made another seizure and recovered eight packets of heroin ( 8 Kg)  worth Rs. 40 crores in the international market near border out post Shameke in this sector. As per information available, the consignment was pushed through water channel gap with the help of water Hyacinth in two attempts.

Earlier on September 9 also five packets of heroin were recovered near BOP Shamemke through same route. On September 7, the sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion had recovered 3 kg heroin which was stashed inside a rubber tube.

Interestingly, in all three incidents, water hyacinth was used to conceal the consignment which was sent through water channel.

It is pertinent to mention here that overall 129.515 Kg heroin has been recovered this year by the BSF on Punjab border.
