BSF SEIZED HEROIN VALUING OVER TEN CRORES, ANOTHER BID TO SMUGGLE HEROIN FROM RIVER ROUTE FOILED

Border Security Force (BSF) troops reported to have seized two packets of contraband (Weight Approx- 2.135 kg) suspected to be Heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post (BOP) Old Md Wala, Ex-136 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur on Monday morning. The contraband heroin valuing over 10 crores in international market.

BSF sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion in this sector  foiled yet another bid by the cross border peddlers to smuggle the consignment of heroin into Indian side through riverine gap in Sutlej and recovered two packets of heroin near border out post Old Mohammadi Wala. As per the sources, the consignment was concealed in water hyacinth to evade any suspicion. 

Earlier on September 6 also, three packets of heroin weighing 1 Kg each were recovered by the Boat Naka party of 136 Battalion near BOP Shame ke. In this case also, the consignment was stashed inside rubber tube and concealed in water hyacinth. 

he suspected contraband was attempted to be pushed through water channel with help of water Hyacinth (Jalkumbhi).  The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India. During the year 2019, BSF has affected 149.425 Kgs heroin valuing billion of rupees in international market.
