PU FACULTY AWARDED RESEARCH GRANT OF 36 LACS BY ICMR

The project will be based on targeting and finding a vital treatment for Parkinson’s Disease (PD) by exploring the potential of novel drug therapies. PD is an old age disorder and is affecting a wider section of population in India. 

 
Dr. Tanzeer Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Biophysics, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been awarded a research grant of Rs. 36 lakhs by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The project will be co-investigated by Dr. Neelima Dhingra, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS).

The project will be based on targeting and finding a vital treatment for Parkinson’s Disease (PD) by exploring the potential of novel drug therapies. PD is an old age disorder and is affecting a wider section of population in India. The individuals suffering from PD looses their control over the movement and currently numerous research has been going to treat the disease. The current project will advance the development, design and validation process of novel drugs against PD.

Dr. Tanzeer Kaur was chosen among the faculties of PU and awarded a research sum of Rs. 50,000 under DST-PURSE as a part of incentive grant program in the year 2018.
