Abohar/Abu Road:

On the World Diabetes Day, the Medical Wing of Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF), in collaboration with Brahmakumaris organised an awareness program at Shantivan.

Dadi Janki, 103-yr old chief of the NGO said that by paying attention to the self, we can be free of tension. No stress means no disease. One should take care of oneself to escape disease.

Dr. Banarasilal Shah, Director of Ever Healthy Hospital Shantivan, who had organised more than 50 Mind Body Medicine conferences across the country, in his welcome address said that the gathering is one of the largest today on World Diabetes Day. Quoting statistics, he said that there are 15 crore diabetic patients in India and 35 crore were in the world today.

Dadi Ratanmohini, joint head, exhorted to stay away from negative thoughts and emotions as these are the root cause of disease. Remaining in constant remembrance of the Supreme Soul can easily keep us away from all negativity. We must endeavour to keep control on our senses and avoid eating junk food, she added.

About 10 lakh patients die annually in India because of it, with one death in every 6 seconds. It is a slow poison. But it can be controlled by adopting Rajyogi Lifestyle. This has been practically proved by conducting camps on patients at Shantivan and in Global Hospital in Mount Abu.

Dr. Shrimant Sahu, globally known dialectologist from the Global Hospital, explained many aspects of this disease through a video presentation. He said that with lifestyle correction, Diabetes can be 100% preventable and curable. He told every person of the divine family suffering from this disease to pledge and become free of it through Rajyoga. This way Brahmakumaris should become an example of total health through Rajyoga in the world. Awareness is the key to prevention. That is why the NGO was organizing these programs.

Anand Kumar, Circle Inspector Abu Road, said that the need of the hour is to put all this information on Diabetes into practice.

Air Force group captain Shiv Kumar said that he is very fortunate to get the blessings of Dadis on his very first visit. He cited the example of his own family to demonstrate the effect of Diabetes on the families of the patients. Lifestyle correction can be an effective way to combat this epidemic of Diabetes.

BK Bharat, Architect and Chief Engineer of Brahmakumaris and HQ coordinator of Scientist and Engineering wing of RERF, offered vote of thanks. Dr Gomati coordinated the program.

An awareness rally on Diabetes was taken out by the members of Brahma Kumaris in Shantivan earlier in the day. Many people from all over the country took part in this program.
