The Punjab government has constituted a 6 member Single Window Committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary Punjab for giving clearance for co-generation of Power in Sugar Industries. Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the government said that, the Secretary Science and Technology, Chairman Punjab State Pollution Control Board, Chairman Punjab State Electricity Board, Managing Director Sugarfed and Mr.Jarnail Singh Wahid of Wahid Sandhar Sugars Ltd, Phagwara would be the members of the newly constituted committee. Chief Executive PEDA would be the convener, he added. He also said that the committee would consider the necessary and applicable approvals/clearances required for setting up of co-generation projects in sugar industries within a stipulated time frame of 60 days from the date of submission of complete applications.   

DATE EXTENDED FOR ON-LINE SCHOLARSHIP

The Punjab Government has extended the date of online applications for the renewal of Post Matric scholarships for the department of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Welfare by August31, 2013. Stating this here today S. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Welfare Minister, Punjab said that earlier the last date for courses related to DPI (Colleges) and DPI (Secondary Education) was July, 31and for DRME and Technical Education was August 31. Now the students could submit the duly filled online forms by August 31, 2013 for all courses, added the Minister.
