Chandigarh (Face2News Bureau)

Leader of Punjab Congress Lagislature Party Mr. Sunil Jakhar alongwith other other Congress MLAS submitted mememorandum to Shri Shivraj Ji Patil, Governor of Punjab on Monday demanding dismissal of Bikram Singh Majitha. In his memmorandum Jakhar said  we seek to draw  your kind attention towards some pressing issues which need your urgent intervention to   safeguard the constitutional and legislative propriety which is being undermined by the Akali-BJP Government in the state. The issue of drugs that is raging large in the State and is threatening the very foundations of the future of this State. In this regard, we wish to draw your kind attention specifically to the issue of alleged involvement of  cabinet ministers  namely, Sh. Bikram Singh Majithia and Sh. Swaran Singh Phillaur whose son has been named by the drug lord Jagdish Bhola, who is presently in custody of the Punjab Police’s custody, as the chief patron of the drug racket. Due to the magnitude of power wielded by the concerned ministers, their continuing to hold office as ministers would enable them to influence the outcome of any  inquiry. We request you to kindly remove these ministers from office till the time truth is established through an impartial probe so that no undue influence may be cast upon the probing agencies. Further, we wish to draw your kind attention to issue of making of bogus votes by the Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi. He has been found to have made bogus votes in his own name and that of his family members in gross criminal violation of the People’s Representation Act resulting in the registration of complaint against him on the directions of the Election Commission of India. Propriety demands that the Minister should have resigned immediately. We request you to kindly have the minister removed from office without any further delay. Sir, unemployment in the State has reached alarming proportions, Industry is fleeing the State due to lack of infrastructure. Agriculture sector is already under huge stress. Due to financial mismanagement of the SAD-BJP Government the state is facing bankruptcy to the extent that the government is not able to pay salaries to its employees for months altogether. In the present  scenario the youth has lost all hopes to find gainful employment under this government. Our concern is that if drug trade is not stopped this energetic youth will be susceptible to be lured into this drug trade. Hence, we request you to kindly ensure all possible measures be taken so that this menace can be eradicated by ensuring zero tolerance towards drug trade.
