PUNJAB VIGILANCE NABS BATHINDA ASI AND PATIALA ADDITIONAL JE of PSPCL IN BRIBERY

Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Thursday nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted in summon staff, Bathinda police and one Additional J.E. posted at Patiala on accepting illegal gratification.

 Punjab Vigilance Bureau spokesman said Avtar Singh Additional JE posted at PSPCL Sub-division West Technical, PSPCL Patiala has been nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jagdeep Singh of Ram Nagar, Patiala.

The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the above said AJE was demanding Rs.10,000 to install a domestic electricity meter tempered with for recording low consumption.

After verifying his information, a Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused AJE arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.

In another case Vigilance Bureau said ASI Tejinder Kumar was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jaswinder Singh of Bathinda district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 10,000 to help him in a court case. He further said that he had already paid Rs. 3,000 to the accused ASI.

After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
