CBI ARRESTS ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER AND OFFICIAL OF NORTH MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI IN BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Commissioner and a UDC, both posted at North Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Narela Zone, Delhi in a bribery case of Rs. 75,000/-.

A case was registered against an Assistant Commissioner and Upper Divisional Clerk, both working in North Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Narela, Delhi on a complaint alleging that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs. 2 lakh for de-sealing the complainant's plywood factory in Delhi. On negotiation, the bribe was reduced to Rs. 75,000/-. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 75,000/- from the complainant.

Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of both the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.The arrested accused were produced before the Designated Court at Delhi and remanded to Judicial Custody.
