Simran Sidhu London born and based writer-director & actor was in Chandigarh in connection with promotional tour of his Punjabi short film 'Rain", produced by Dr. Chanan Singh Sidhu under the banner of Blue Horse Films International limited. The film won international acclaim including prestigious Remi Award for Best Dramatic Short Film at the 51st World Fest in Houston. Past Remi winners include Hollywood legends Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park), Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather) and George Lucas (Star Wars ).
At Chandigarh Press Club , Simran Sidhu briefed the media persons that the story of the film revolves around a farmer's plight who is looking up at the Sky for the rain to fall. The film won 8 Awards, and was adjudged Best Dramatic Film in Festigious Monthly Film Competition held in Los Angeles and praised by noted Film and TV composer Nami Melumad.
Music by Elvin Hendrijanto and photpgraphy by Anil Dhanda are the other credits of the film . Edited by Jaime Estrada-Torres, it features Yashpal Sharma, Bittoo Bajwa and Veer Samra in the lead.
On this occassion Simran Sidhu, who is married in Chandigarh, praises his wife Jaspreet for brain behind the success of Punjabi short film 'Rain'.
At the conclusion Mr Chanan Singh Sidhu and Simran Sidhu further told media persons that they have since obtained the rights of National Award Winning Punjabi Film "Chann Pardesi " which would be remastered and digitally released all over.
