MANESAR LAND SCAM: FORMER CM HOODA APPEARED IN CBI COURT

ARGUMENTS ON ALL ACCUSED COMPLETED, NEXT HEARING IS NOW ON FEBRUARY 25

The Manesar land scam scam case was heard in a CBI court in Panchkula on Tuesday. The main accused in the scam and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, along with all the 33 accused also appeared in the court.

 During the last hearing, the argurments haved been completed on the allegations against all the accused, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. There was arguements on the allegation of only one accused was pending, which was completed on Tuesday. The next hearing in this case has been fixed 25 February.

A charge sheet was filed by the CBI against 34 accused, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The case was being heard at Panchkula CBI court, which includes the charge sheet against several builders including ML Tayal, Chhatar Singh, SS Dhillon, former DTP Jaswant besides Hooda. On September 17, 2015, the CBI registered a case against 34 including Hooda in connection with the Manesar land scam.

In this case Enforcement Directorate ( ED) also filed a case of money laundering against Hooda in September 2016. The ED had registered a criminal case against Hooda and others based on the CBI's FIR. In this case, it is alleged that in August 2014, private builders teamed up with unknown public servants of Haryana government and bought about 400 acres of their land at a paltry price by showing farmers and landowners of Manser, Naurangpur and Lucknowola villages in Gurgaon district byfearing acquisition.

Congress Govt. led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, now the opposition leader of Haryana Assembly and others were charged of acquiring about 900 acres of land and selling it to the builders at throw away prices.
