FINANCER MURDER CASE: BIKE BORN KILLERS STILL AT LARGE

A lady namely Meenakshi W/o Surjit Singh R/o 5141, Sec-38, west, Chandigarh reported about an attack on her husband, namely Surjit Singh, adult male, who was doing business of finance in Sector- 22 mobile market.

On March 16 at about 10.54 pm, she had called on her husband’s mobile number, which was attended by a public person who told her that her husband has been fired at by some unknown persons near small chowk, Sector-38, west, Chandigarh. Upon this, she reached at the spot and found her husband in critical condition in his car make CIAZ no.CH01-BN-3640.

She came to know that 2 persons on a bike, wearing helmet, had fired multiple rounds at her husband. Police officials from Maloya Police Station immediately rushed at the spot and the victim was taken to PGI where after a long life death tussle, he succumbed to the injuries.

Face Book  post appreared in which one person Davinder along with 8 others mentioned, claiming that lucky has taken revenge of their brother meet and by doing this he has paid his tribute towards their friendship. Davinder was head of a gang and was encountered, but his FB page is still handled by someone.

All the police officials along with SSP chandigarh reached the spot and started preliminary investigation about the incident from locals and checking the CCTV footages,, it was found out that a bike having two riders wearing helmets took a chance when the deceased car stopped at the red light just a KM away from his residence. They had shot multiple rounds, and one clear shot was visible just above the ear, which was most fatal. The number of the bike was not visible in the footages. However, track of their route hints towards a well planned shoot out.

The deceased has a 14 year old son.

He is known to provide bouncers in tricity and had rivalries from the competitors. Previously he had major fights with those in same profession over the business outreach and share in this market. He was a named accused in famous meet murder case of Panchkula but was not arrested and was given clean chit after proper investigation. Since then the feeling of revenge might have sustained in the hearts of opposite party.

Police is looking into this aspect along with checking the trail of FB post, exploring all other angles like recent tussle with his clients in finance field, his claims of dues from the big debtors, his recent failed contracts with hired bouncers, jealousy among any new entrants into his business fields.In this case an FIR no.40, dated:17.03.2020 U/s 302, 34, IPC & 25/27/54/59 Arms Act has been registered against unknown persons and the same is under investigation. The dead body of Surjit singh have been handed over to their kin after conducting postmortem in Sector 16 Multi utility hospital.
