NO ONE WILL GO TO MASJID AND KABRISTAN FOR SHAB-E-BARAT, ONLY PAY RESPECT (DUAN) AT THEIR HOMES

A press conference was held by leaders of Muslim community i.e. Maullana Ajmal Khan, Jama Masjid, Sector 20, Maullana Imran of Masjid Mani Majra, Mufti Anas of Masjid BDC-26, Mr.Quari Shamsher of Masjid Sector 45 and Mr.Noor member of Tablighi Jamaat Chandigarh at 12 pm at Jama Masjid, Sector 20, Chandigarh.

The conference was held for making appeal through media among the public to follow instructions & guidelines on Covid-19 issued by the Govt. of India. Further, they told that decision of closing Masjid for gathering & Namaz was taken up since the lockdown was announced in the country. They appealed the public to follow this.

  They have collectively taken decision for country that no one will go to Masjid and Kabristan for Shab-e-Barat, only pay respect (Duan) at their homes. As per Islam, taking care of one’s body & health is a sacred duty, thus we must take all precautions & abide by all instructions/guidelines issued by the Govt.

SSP, UT, Chandigarh, Ms. Nilambari Jagadale, IPS, expressed that this initiative by Muslim leaders of Chandigarh is itself in the interest of human kind / public safety & security; hence, it is highly commendable step. Worthy DGP, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS also appreciated this initiative of Muslim community leaders.

It is worthwhile to mention that all participants of Nizamuddin jamaat who are residing in Chandigarh cooperated in health check up. Their report is negative for covid 19 and hence they are discharged today. There were over 15 participants of jamaat at places other than Nizamuddin, who are residing in Chandigarh currently. All of them came forward for health check up and are following instructions by health department.
Ms. Nilambari Jagadale, IPS, SSP, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Ram Gopal, DSP/CID were also present during the conference at Jama Masjid, Sector 20, Chandigarh.
