With a view to assess the ground situation regard to the corona virus treatment, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today paid a surprise visit to the Civil Hospital, Phase - 6 here today.

The minister on the occasion took stock of the treatment being provided to the patients found positive for corona virus besides making an assessment of the various types of equipment and medicines and the sanitation arrangements.

Exhorting them to not panic, the minister while appreciating their selfless services said that their hard work and dedication has paid off and many patients have been cured and gone home. He also said that we need to stand together in this war against corona virus and we would defeat it.

On the occasion, an NGO Property Consultants Association, Chandigarh distributed 50 PPE Kits, 1000 Triple Layer Masks, 100 N-95 Masks apart from 2 Thermometer Guns.Among others present on the occasion included the Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjit Singh, Chairman of the Property Consultants Association Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, President Kamal Gupta and Finance Secretary Manpreet Singh.

LAUNCHES SANITIZATION DRIVE IN PHASE 7 UNDER PERSONAL SUPERVISION, CALLS SANITIZATION STAFF AS AMBASSADORS OF HYGIENE: "The Punjab Government has taken necessary measures at a rapid pace to ensure that the corona virus disease is effectively contained. It is in keeping with this goal in mind that a Sanitization drive has been undertaken today at Phase - 7."

Disclosing this here today on the occasion of kickstarting the drive under his personal supervision, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, and Mohali MLA Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the District Administration is taking effective steps to stop the spread of corona virus and the need of the hour is to keep the momentum going.

Calling the staff engaged in the Sanitization work as the Ambassadors of Hygiene, the minister assured that their needs regarding the safety equipment concerning masks, gloves and sanitisers besides ensuring their medical check up, would also be taken care of.

He also said that the spray machines, fire tenders, hand spray pumps are being used for disinfection with sodium hypochlorite.The villages besides the slum areas are being disinfected on priority.
