52 PATIENTS RECOVERED AND ACTIVE CASES ARE 43 IN DISTRICT: DR MANJIT SINGH

Three more patients have recovered from Coronavirus infection and were discharged on Friday. This was disclosed by Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh. The patients have been discharged from 'Covid Care Center' at Gyan Sagar Hospital near Banur.

Among the patients who recovered on Friday are 80-year-old Tej Kaur, 32-year-old Harwinder Kaur and 67-year-old Bhag Singh. All these persons belong to Jawaharpur. Dr. Manjit Singh said that the total number of positive cases in the district is 98 while the number of active cases is 43. A total of 52 patients have recovered out of which 34 patients from Jawaharpur alone have recovered so far.

The Jawaharpur residents will not be sent home yet and will stay at a quarantine facility at Nirankari Bhawan in Dera Bassi, for another 14 days as a precautionary measure. They have been asked to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days. The health teams will keep track of their health regularly.

Dr Manjit Singh added that after fourteen days” treatment, reports of two consecutive tests conducted on them came out negative after which they have been discharged from the hospital. He said all the remaining patients are undergoing treatment at Gian Sagar Hospital. All patients are stable and no one is in serious condition.

The Civil Surgeon again appealed to the people not to leave their homes and only go out when there is an urgent need. He also asked them to visit hospitals in case of any serious problem only. Instead, they should contact the health department's helpline 104 for the expert advice. He also asked the people to wash their hands frequently and keep necessary distance from each other. District epidemiologist Dr. Renu Singh and Dr. Harmandeep Kaur were also present on the occasion.
