Haryana Police is extremely sensitive towards its police personnel deployed to fight the global Pandemic COVID-19 and reiterating its commitment and providing safety equipments to the frontline police personnel and officers.

Giving information, a police spokesman said that Rs. 5,20,63,750 was allocated to the field units for providing free food facilities and other items like sanitizer, masks, gloves, PPE kits, thermal scanners and spectacles etc, so that the policemen while performing their duties should feel safe and also keep their morale high.

He said that the Police Headquarter has distributed 112000 masks, 97000 gloves, 8390 PPE kits, 45 thermal scanners, 100 hygiene kits, 5000 black goggles and sanitizers to the police field units for COVID-19 till May 6, 2020. The spokesman said that the Superintendents of Police and Senior Rank Officers like IGP / ADGP range are motivating the officers and jawans by regularly monitoring their work.

The spokesman said that a state level police COVID Crisis Management Team has been constituted under the supervision of the Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk at the State Police Headquarter, with five SP rank officers including one DIG.

He said that the main responsibilities of this team include sharing of information and instructions of the Central and State Governments to the police field units immediately, coordinate and supervise the efforts of field units in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, coordinating with various departments and authorities of the Central and State Government, strengthening welfare measures and reinforcing additional manpower.

He informed that this team regularly holds meetings twice a day and takes further action to resolve various issues as soon as possible after discussions based on inputs received from field units.

Apart from this, he informed that three DSP rank officers have been deputed to the state COVID-19 control room number- 91-8558893911 and 1075 (tollfree) so that the issues on the state helpline can be resolved immediately.

He said that the Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal has also appreciated the efforts of the policemen for performing 24-hour service, in this hour of crisis.
