The academic year has been disrupted due to the unprecedented national shutdown to curb the Corona pandemic. There is high anxiety among students because of the prospect of wasting a year due to delayed academic calendar as well as the possibility of online exams without proper completion of course work.

Mr. Vishal Chaudhary, General Secretary NSUI, said, the NSUI has already stated that online exams are likely to be discriminatory given the highly uneven access to infrastructure and connectivity. It is also inadvisable to conduct exams without completion of course work in physical class.

In light of this, the NSUI has the following demands:

All Students in Year 1 and 2 should be promoted without exam. Extra classes for course work missed should be conducted after universities re-open Students in Final Year should be promoted on the basis of past performance with 10% extra marks since it is observed that students improve their performance in the final year.

Families across the board have suffered great economic loss. We believe that in this time, the education of our youth should not suffer and hence demand that one semester's fee is waived. Universities may seek additional funds from PM Cares fund where teachers and University staff mandatorily made a contribution

Students are the future of this country and we won't let anyone's future in stake during this pandemic. We demand of a justified system and so, there should be a complete waive off of the semester fee this time and promote them.

Mr. Vishal Chaudhary further said, we  demand to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar that as soon as possible, take cognizance of the above three points given by the NSUI and take action to implement them with immediate effect by taking a decision in the interest of students, so that the future of millions of students can be save.
