HARYANA POLICE SEIZED 1106 KG POPPY HUSK FROM KAITHAL AND PANCHKULA, FIVE ARRESTED

HARYANA POLICE FOILED ATTEMPT TO PUSH A BIGH DRUG CONSIGNMENT INTO THE STATE FROM MADHYA PRADESH AND RAJASTHAN

Chandigarh/Kaithal (Face2News)–

The Haryana Police has foiled an attempt to push a big drug consignment into the state from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and seized a total of 1106 kg 340 gram poppy husk (doda/chura post) concealed in trucks from Kaithal and Panchkula districts. Police have also arrested five persons in this connection.

While stating this here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in the first incident, a STF team while conducting checking at a naka near Titram mor, Kaithal had intercepted a truck bearing Haryana registration number and seized 876 kg poppy husk (including 760 kg doda post and 116 kg chura post) concealed under 41 plastic bags of Lemon.

In the second incident, Police got a tip off that a huge consignment of narcotics was being brought to Panchkula in a truck from Rajasthan. On receiving this information, police team put up barricades near the toll plaza Chandimandir and a truck was intercepted. When frisked, 200 kg chura post was recovered from 5 plastic bags hidden under the plastic drums. The arrested accused has been identified as a resident of village Rampur Siyudi, Pinjore.

Police had also arrested two accused identified as a resident of Devigarh road, Kaithal and a resident of Kurukshetra district. Initial investigation revealed that accused had brought the huge consignment of drugs from Madhya Pradesh.

In the second incident, Police got a tip off that a huge consignment of narcotics was being brought to Panchkula in a truck from Rajasthan. On receiving this information, police team put up barricades near the toll plaza Chandimandir and a truck was intercepted. When frisked, 200 kg chura post was recovered from 5 plastic bags hidden under the plastic drums. The arrested accused has been identified as a resident of village Rampur Siyudi, Pinjore.

In a separate case, sleuths of Crime branch, Panchkula had seized 30 kg 340 gram chura post from the possession of two accused in a truck at a naka between Zirakpur-Kalka national highway. Arrested accused were identified a resident of district Solan, Himachal Pradesh and a resident of village Shahpur, Pinjore Police Station. 
Cases have been registered against the accused under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Detailed investigation on the issue was underway, he added.
