World Environment Day 2020 was celebrated by organising Online Webinar at Institutions’ of Engineers (India) Local Centre Bathinda on Friday.

More than 115 participants including Professional Engineers and Senior Educationists from various parts of the country attended the Webinar. June 5 is celebrated as World Environment Day every year since 1972 when United Nations General Assembly established this day on the first day of Stockholm Conference on Human Environment.

Dr. Bansal also talked about the contribution of different engineering fields to the biodiversity which has helped in overall development and growth of the sector along with the economy, keeping in mind about the future generation. Besides, He pointed out some basic steps to contribute towards biodiversity as a common person such as using Cloth Bags instead of Plastic Bags, plantation in our surroundings, Avoiding the burning of Dry Leaves, etc.

MRSPTU, Dean Planning and Development and Chairman, Institutions’ of Engineers Bathinda Centre, Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu welcomed the participants, while Dr. Jagtar Singh, Honorary Secretary, IEI Bathinda Centre, proposed a vote of thanks.
