PU: ROLE OF MUSIC IN INDIAN CULTURE DISCUSSED

The Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized an International Virtual Colloquium "Role of the Music of Punjab in Indian Culture" on 26th June 2020. Prof. VR Sinha, Dean Research delivered the keynote address in the colloquium. Dr. Rai Bahadur Singh (Assistant Professor, Dept of Music) coordinated the Colloquium. 

Renowned academicians and performing artists, Dr. Gurnam Singh (Retd) (Sangeet Natak Academy awardee), Founder Professor and head, Gurmat Sangeet dept. Punjabi University Patiala; Prof. Anupam Mahajan, (Retd), ex H.O.D., Dept of Music, University of Delhi; Dr. Paramjit Singh, Tabla Player (Retd.), Dept of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh; were invited as key speakers. Live Streaming of the Colloquium was telecasted through facebook. Students, Faculty, Academicians and Artists throughout India connected to facebook live streaming,shared Dr. Neelam Paul ,Chairperson
