CBI BOOKED MANIMAJRA SHO FOR TAKING BRIBE OF RUPEES FIVE LACS, MIDDLEMAN REMANDED TO CUSTODY

CBI Anti corruption Cell reported to have registered a case against Manimajra police station SHO Jaswinder Kaur (now removed) for taking a bribe of five lakh rupees. Taking one lakh rupees from the second installment of bribe, the CBI had nabbed intermediary Bhagwan Singh from Sangrur on Monday late night.

The CBI has registered a case against Inspector Jaswinder Kaur and Bhagwan Singh under sections of the Corruption Act. At the same time, the CBI team did not arrest Jaswinder Kaur at night due to being a woman, but seized some documents from the SHO's office in Manimajra police station, Sector-22 residence and sealed both places.

The CBI had asked Jaswinder Kaur to appear at the CBI office by 12 noon on Tuesday, but the inspector did not reach the CBI office. After this, she was asked to appear again till three o'clock, but she did not come. She is currently being absconded. His mobile phone is also switched off. CBI teams are raiding in search of her.

The CBI had asked Jaswinder Kaur to appear at the CBI office by 12 noon on Tuesday, but the inspector did not reach the CBI office. At the same time the police department has also removed Jaswinder Kaur from the post of SHO and transferred it to the Sector 26 police line. Mr. Neeraj Sarna currently working as Traffic Inspector, has been posted as SHO of Manimajra police station. At the same time, the accused Bhagwan Singh is currently on a four-day CBI remand. 

Gurdeep Singh, a resident of Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, had complained to the CBI on 26 June that Manimajra SHO Jaswinder Kaur had demanded a bribe of Rs five lakh to protect him from a complaint against him. Jaswinder had told him that Randhir Singh had complained against him that Gurdeep had cheated him of Rs 27-28 lakh to get a job.

Anti Corruption Cell of CBI, who registered FIR against Jaswinder Kaur called Gurdeep Singh to the police station and demanded a bribe of Rs five lakh from him to relief him in the case. She also  threatened to intimidate him for not giving money. After this, under pressure from Jaswinder Kaur, on June 19, Bhagwan Singh went to Sangrur to receive the first installment of two lakh rupees as bribe. After this, on 26 June, Inspector Jaswinder Kaur called him again and asked him to give the rest of the money before July 1. After this, Gurdeep Singh gave a complaint to CBI.
