NRI COMMISSION ORDERS GURDASPUR DC AND SSP TO ENSURE POSSESSION OF PROPERTY TO DENMARK BASED NRI’S

Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner to submit action taken report till September 23 


The NRI Commission of Punjab has ordered the Deputy Commissioner and   SSP of Gurdaspur district to take prompt action to hand over the possession of rightful property to Denmark based NRI Mr. Sarjit Singh Ahluwalia. They have been also asked to submit the report to the commission regarding action taken to fix the responsibility of the erring officials by September 23, 2014 in that case.  A spokesman of the NRI Commission today said that Mr.  Sarjit Singh Ahluwalia (78) a physically challenged and citizen of Denmark had filed a complaint alleging that he was the owner of land measuring 18 kanal 6 marla situated at H.B. 625 in village Purana Chaawla, Tehsil and District Gurdaspur.  He had submitted that One Gurnam Singh taking the advantage of his (complainant) absence on the basis of forged and fabricated Power of Attorney executed sale deed of the said land in favour of Balkar Singh, Jaspal Singh, Paramjit Singh, Chamkur Singh and Daulat Singh. The complainant said that earlier he had filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur and in inquiry the forgery was confirmed and the revenue entries of the above mentioned land was reversed in his name. The said findings were confirmed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar Division using the judicial power of Financial Commissioner, Punjab in its order dated 01.01.2013. However, the said persons taking the advantage of said revenue entries on the strength of said illegal sale deed dispossessed him from his land forcefully and illegally. In his complaint the NRI has demanded police assistance/protection to preclude any personal injury to himself and the revenue official and to maintain peace and his personal safety and to effect the possession of his rightful property. The Commission has asked the DC and SSP Gurdaspur for immediate action in accordance with law/rules. The DC Gurdaspur has also been asked to inform the  Commission about what action has been taken to fix the responsibility of the erring officials. Besides that the commission has also asked the Principal Secretary (Home), Principal Secretary (NRI Affairs) and DGP Punjab for prompt/appropriate action at their end.
