25TH MAHAVEER AWARD CEREMONY OF BHAGWAN MAHAVEER FOUNDATION HELD

In the 25th Mahaveer Award Silver Jubilee Celebrations at Mahaveer Institute of Technology in Jadan village of Pali area, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra yesterday called upon to imbibe the principles of Bhagwan Mahaveer and adopt them in life. He said that the rules propounded by Bhagwan Mahaveer were relevant even today. The Governor said that Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation was doing a commendable job by honouring the talents who were doing excellent work in different areas.

Bharat Sanghvi of People for Animals-Sirohi was honoured for his work in the field of non-violence and vegetarianism, Satya Narayan Mundyur in the field of education in Arunachal Pradesh, Swami Vishwanath representative of Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Niramay Niketan-Haldia in the field of medicine and Aaotoshi representative of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram in the field of community and social service.

Each was presented with an amount of Rs 10 lakh, citation and memento for remarkable service work and social excellence. The Governor also released the souvenir of the 25th Mahaveer Award Ceremony and its first copy was presented to G.S. Singhvi, a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. The function was presided over by Dr. D. R. Mehta Ex-President SEBI. Gyan Chand Parakh MLA Pali and Shobha Chauhan MLA Sojat were special guests.

Management Trustee Prasann Chand Jain said that since the last 25 years, the organization has been honouring talented personalities. Former SEBI chairman D.R. Mehta said that honouring the talents working for the upliftment of the society is a very commendable initiative.
Former Supreme Court judge G.S. Singhvi said that it was appreciable to honour the talents who make excellent achievements in serving the society.

Trustee Pramod Jain said that this award was instituted in the year 1994, so far this prestigious award has been presented to 84 people including 9 from Rajasthan.
