Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana inaugurated the Bust of Maj. Anuj Rajput, one of the brave martyrs of the Indian Army and an alumnus of St. John's High School, at the school premises on Monday.
Maj. Anuj Rajput made his supreme sacrifice after the successful completion of his assigned task during OPERATION RAKSHAK as a Helicopter Pilot in the Army’s Operational Mission at Doda – Kishtwar Valley in Jammu and Kashmir on 21.09.2021. An outstanding aviator, he laid down his life in the highest tradition of the Indian Army.
The Hon'ble Governor’s gracious presence on this solemn occasion was awe inspiring for all the boys of the school. He said that this Bust will remind the students to follow their dreams and also, serve as a source of inspiration for all and instill a feeling of patriotism. He said that the installation of the bust in the 75th year of independence, when the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated, is truly commendable and he praised the school authorities for it.

He added that under the able leadership of Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi, the security systems of the country have been made stronger with the introduction of the state of the art Rafale fighter jets, S&400 Missile Defense system, Brahmos missile, Prachand etc.
The inauguration was attended by officers from Maj. Anuj Rajput’s parent unit (Regiment of Artillery), his parents Mr. Kulbansh Singh and Mrs. Usha, his friends, esteemed guests, the members of the St. John’s Old Boys Association, students and staff members.
Mr. and Mrs. Singh, parents of Maj. Anuj Rajput graciously instituted three scholarships for the economically disadvantaged students from the school and also started a trophy cum cash prize annually for the best NCC cadet. The Principal, Mrs. Kavita C. Das said that while everyone was full of pride at the supreme sacrifice made by this brave soldier, they also felt a tide of emotions inside them. She also expressed her gratitude for the Hon'ble Governor's gracious presence on this solemn occasion.
