GANGSTER LALIT TYAGI MURDER CASE OF PANIPAT: DELHI CRIME POLICE ARRESTED THREE GANGSTERS

HUGE CACHE OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION CONTAINING DOUBLE BARREL GUN -03, SINGLE BARREL GUN -02, COUNTRY MADE KATTA -03, COUNTRY MADE PISTOL -01, CARTRIDGES 315 BORE -06 AND CARTRIDGES 12 BORE -17 RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION, MURDER CONVICT LALIT TYAGI HAD BEEN RECENTLY RELEASED ON BAIL AFTER 8 YEARS IN MURDER CASE OF ONE NEERAJ, EX-SARPANCH OF HIS VILLAGE HATHWALA..       LALIT TYAGI AND ONE MEMBER OF THEIR GANG NAMELY MOHIT PARDHAN HAD A LAND DISPUTE.

On 12.11.2022, acting on a secret information, the team of Insp Gurmeet Singh, WR-II, Crime Branch, has apprehended three accused persons namely  Arjun @ Arjun Pandit s/o Satyavir Singh r/o Village Lahchora, PS Chandi Nagar, Distt. Baghpat, UP Age:- 22 Years,  Akshay Sharma s/o Manoj Sharma r/o Village Lahchora, PS Chandi Nagar, Distt. Baghpat, UP Age:- 22 Years and  Ravi Shankar Sharma s/o Satya Prakash Sharma r/o Lahchora, PS Chandi Nagar, Distt. Baghpat, UP Age:- 26 Years from Main Karawal Nagar Road, Delhi. Huge Cache of Arms and Ammunition containing Double Barrel Gun (03), Single Barrel Gun (02), Country made Katta (03), Country made pistol (01), Cartridges 315 Bore (06) and Cartridges 12 Bore (17) were recovered from their possession. Subsequently, a Case under Arms Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch against them.

The Gangsters were wanted in a brutal murder of rival gangster Lalit Tyagi. 

On 07.11.2022, the Complainant Ankit s/o Sushil Tyagi r/o Village Hathwala, Tehsil Samalkha, Distt. Panipat, Haryana stated that he along with his uncle Lalit Tyagi and cousin Bunty were working in their fields. While his uncle Lalit was taking bath in Yamuna River and Bunty was driving tractor, few unknown persons came at their fields and fired indiscriminately at his uncle Lalit Tyagi and his cousin Bunty. Lalit sustained bullet injuries on chest and thighs. He was rushed to hospital but Lalit expired on the way to hospital.

The assassins fled from the spot. In this regard, FIR No. 948/22 dated 07.11.22 u/s 302/34 IPC and 25 Arms Act PS Samalkha, Panipat, Haryana has been registered against unknown persons. The Local Police carried out investigation in this matter but no accused was arrested till date.

Considering the rise in cases of firing and street crimes in Delhi/NCR, a team of WR-II, Crime Branch led by Insp Gurmeet Singh, comprising of SI Satyender Yadav, HC Dinesh, HC Jitender, HC Vinod and HC Mayank under the close supervision of Sh. Yashpal Singh, ACP/WR-II and overall guidance of Sh. Rohit Meena, DCP/Crime-II, under-signed was constituted to nab the gangsters who possess illegal weapons and are actively involved in firing incidents. Secret informers were deputed to track such gangsters.

Information about the murder of Lalit Tyagi was shared with informer and sensing the gravity of the incident, team was tasked to work on the case with the direction to trace the accused persons On analyzing voluminous data, it was revealed that the accused were changing their locations frequently. Thus, technical surveillance was mounted and efforts were made to trace them and with the help of specialized technical investigation and technical surveillance, they were tracked at Karawal Nagar area.

MOTIVE & DISCLOSURE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:- They have disclosed that they belong to the notorious gang of Kaala Pandit gang which is active on the border districts of UP and Haryana. They along with other members had formed this Gang. They mainly targeted disputed land. Their gang member namely Mohit Pardhan r/o Village Ujeda, Modi Nagar, UP had purchased land in Samalkha, Panipat and he had land dispute with one Lalit s/o Rampal r/o Village Hathwala Tehsil Samalkha Distt. Panipat, Haryana, who had been recently released on bail in a murder case of one Neeraj, ex-sarpanch of his village, after spending 8 years in jail.

Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, the disputed land was in Yamuna River Bed. The dispute was regarding possession and cultivation of this land. The accused persons had cultivated the disputed land on the previous day. When the deceased Lalit reached at the disputed land and raised objections. The accused persons shot him dead and fled from the spot.

KNOW THE ACCUSED: The accused Ravi Shankar was born at his native village. His father works in Delhi Jal Board on contract basis. He has four more brothers. One of his brother is in Indian Army. He completed his 12th from Inter College, Gona, Bhagpat, UP. After completion of 12th, he started working in his fields but the income was too merge. Later, he came in contact with bad elements and started committing petty crimes. He developed bad habits of drinking and smoking drugs. To fulfil his desires of drinking and smoking, he started committing crimes. They formed their own gang with the name Kaala Pandit Gang.

The accused Arjun Pandit was born at his native village. His father is a farmer. He has three more siblings. He completed his 12th from Inter College, Ratol, Bhagpat, UP. After completion of 12th, he started working in his fields but the income was too merge. Later, he came in contact with bad elements and started committing petty crimes. He developed bad habits of drinking and smoking drugs. To fulfil his desires of drinking and smoking, he started committing crimes. They formed their own gang with the name Kaala Pandit Gang.

The accused Akshay Sharma was born at his native village. His father works in Forest Department in UP. He has two more siblings. He completed his 12th from Inter College, Khekara, Bhagpat, UP. He is also pursuing BA. After completion of 12th, he started working in his fields but the income was too merge. Later, he came in contact with bad elements and started committing petty crimes. He developed bad habits of drinking and smoking drugs. To fulfil his desires of drinking and smoking, he started committing crimes. They formed their own gang with the name Kaala Pandit Gang.

The accused persons have been arrested under relevant section of law and PC remand is being obtained from the Hon’ble court. The Police of PS Samalkha has been informed about the arrest of the accused persons.
